Richard Mason Personal Training
Personal Training & Coaching Terms
Last updated: 9 October 2026
These terms explain the main arrangements for services provided by Richard Mason Personal Training (RMPT). Any service-specific details confirmed with you before payment also form part of our agreement. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
1. Services
RMPT provides private personal training in Ebbw Vale and personalised coaching covering training, nutrition, habits and accountability. The exact service, price, start date and included support will be confirmed before payment.
2. Health and suitability
You must provide accurate information about relevant health conditions, injuries, medication and professional advice that may affect training or nutrition. You are responsible for seeking medical clearance when appropriate and for telling Richard promptly if your circumstances change.
Exercise involves an inherent risk of injury. Instructions should be followed, and you should stop and report unusual pain, dizziness or symptoms. RMPT provides general fitness and nutrition coaching, not medical diagnosis, treatment or dietetic care.
3. Booking and payment
Payment arrangements are confirmed before a service begins. Sessions and coaching places are not secured until any agreed payment has been received. You are responsible for arriving ready to begin at the agreed time.
4. Private-session cancellations
Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or rearrange a private training session. With at least 24 hours' notice, the session can be rearranged subject to availability. A session cancelled or moved with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged or deducted from a block. Genuine emergencies may be considered at Richard's discretion.
If RMPT needs to cancel a session, it will be rearranged without charge. Any relevant block-expiry date will be extended where reasonably needed. Late arrival may reduce the available session time so that later bookings are not disrupted.
5. Training blocks
An eight-session training block is valid for 12 weeks from the date of purchase. Sessions should be booked with enough time to use the block within that period. Extensions may be agreed where RMPT has cancelled sessions or where exceptional circumstances make an extension reasonable.
6. Six-week coaching
The programme runs for six weeks from the agreed start date. RMPT will provide the agreed onboarding, personalised plans, check-ins, adjustments and support. You agree to provide the information and check-ins reasonably needed to personalise the service.
WhatsApp support is for reasonable coaching questions and replies are normally provided within one working day. It is not an emergency or medical service. Missed check-ins or periods when you choose not to engage do not automatically extend the programme.
Results cannot be guaranteed. They depend on factors including your starting point, consistency, health, training and nutrition. Continued support after the initial six weeks can be discussed separately and is never automatic or compulsory.
7. Cooling-off rights for distance contracts
If you enter into a service contract online, by telephone or away from RMPT's usual business premises, you will normally have 14 days after the contract is made to cancel without giving a reason.
If you expressly ask RMPT to begin work during that period and then cancel, you may need to pay a proportionate amount for the service already supplied. If a service is fully performed following your express request and acknowledgement, the statutory right to cancel may end. Where digital materials are supplied immediately, you may also be asked to consent to immediate supply and acknowledge how that affects cancellation rights.
8. Refunds after a service has begun
Requests outside any statutory cancellation right will be considered fairly case by case. RMPT will take account of work already completed, personalised plans or materials already prepared, support already supplied, unused services and any costs or losses that can reasonably be avoided. This does not limit any refund or remedy required by law.
9. Pauses and changes
If illness, injury or a significant change in circumstances affects your ability to continue, contact Richard as soon as possible. A reasonable pause, adjustment or alternative may be agreed depending on the service and the circumstances. Changes are only effective when confirmed by RMPT.
10. Respectful conduct and ending services
Both parties are expected to communicate respectfully. RMPT may pause or end services for abusive, threatening or unsafe behaviour, serious misuse of support, non-payment, or repeated failure to follow reasonable safety instructions. Any financial adjustment will be handled fairly and in line with consumer law.
11. Plans and materials
Training plans, nutrition guidance, videos, guides and other RMPT materials are supplied for your personal use. They must not be copied, sold, published or shared commercially without written permission.
12. Problems and complaints
Please raise any concern promptly so there is a fair opportunity to put things right. Contact Richard at rich@rmpt.uk. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without removing any consumer protection or right to use the courts that applies to you.
